Minot Sertoma Club’s Christmas in the Park Returns for the Holiday Season
The Minot Sertoma Club’s annual Christmas in the Park will return to Oak Park for another season of holiday magic, opening Friday, November 27. The light display will be open nightly through December 31.
Visitors can enjoy the festive displays from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 5:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
Admission is $10 per vehicle. Additional fees apply for limousines and buses. Cash is preferred, but credit card payments will also be accepted.
This year’s event features more than 60 favorite holiday displays, along with a few new and unique additions. Continuing a tradition that showcases community involvement, students from South Prairie School have once again contributed their welding talents by helping construct frames for new displays.
One of the most memorable traditions at Christmas in the Park is the “pay it forward” spirit displayed by visitors. Volunteers at the entrance booth enjoy sharing the news when a guest pays the admission fee for the vehicle behind them. On many evenings, this gesture continues for numerous vehicles, spreading holiday cheer throughout the park.
The volunteers also love greeting four-legged visitors with dog treats. Many attendees make the experience even more festive by picking up soft-serve ice cream from DQ, popcorn from the Oak Park Theater, or a hot cocoa or coffee from a local coffee shop before driving through the displays.
Christmas in the Park is the Minot Sertoma Club’s largest annual fundraiser. The event is organized and staffed entirely by volunteers, including Sertoma members, their families and friends, and additional support from Minot Parks. Local businesses and organizations play a vital role through display sponsorships.
Proceeds from the event are returned directly to the community, supporting a variety of local organizations with a special focus on hearing and speech programs and youth initiatives. Since 1959, the Minot Sertoma Club (SERvice TO MAnkind) has raised and donated more than $1 million to benefit the Minot area.
The Minot Sertoma Club extends its sincere thanks to all sponsors, volunteers, and community partners who help make this holiday tradition possible.
Join us this season and experience the magic of Christmas in the Park while helping support important programs and services throughout our community.
